Idiom of the Day
I have decided to do a Idiom of the Day every day. What are Idioms? A Idiom is a word or saying that does not mean litteraly what it says. For instance, "let the cat out of the bag" does not mean "let the cat out of the bag. It means to reveal a secret. OK, so now you know what a Idiom means, here's the Idiom of the day.
The Idiom of the day is.... "Cut Off Your Nose to Spite Your Face".
For instance, "Jacob, just because Isaiah did better on his math pre-test, doesn't mean you should cut your nose on to spite your face."(not study or try hard)
Meaning: To sulk or make things harder for yourself because your upset with someone.
Jacob was not going to try harder on his test just because Isaiah did better than him on his pre-test.
